Editorial Standards

NearLens covers smart glasses, privacy, accessibility and the choices that shape shared spaces.

Fair editorial positioning: We aim to represent relevant evidence and reasonable opposing views fairly. An article's argument is not necessarily NearLens's position, and describing a risk does not mean that every wearer, manufacturer or use is harmful.

What we publish

Our articles combine reported facts, source-linked analysis and commentary. We distinguish analysis and commentary from legal advice, and we do not present an article as a substitute for advice from a qualified lawyer or other professional.

We identify uncertainty, separate documented events from examples or forecasts, and correct errors when we find them. We try to describe assistive and ordinary uses alongside legitimate privacy concerns, without treating people who use the technology as the problem.

Sources and corrections

Sources are linked where practical. We give particular care to claims about law, safety, accessibility and alleged wrongdoing, and we update an article when a material fact changes.
